A
research lab that looks to fashions of the past, as well as a vast
historical archive from which today’s designers draw inspiration
for their collections,
each edition of Vintage Selection draws more and more exhibitors and
an ever-larger audience. The title-theme
of this 24th
edition will be denim ̶
in harmony with Pitti Filati 75 that will be presenting a new
project dedicated to the blue cloth made in Italy, which has long
been one of the strong points of vintage style. The setting
at
Vintage Selection will reflect this fabric, thanks to the cooperation
of Candiani
Denim, the
world’s leading maker of denim cloth.
Enthusiasts
and collectors looking for original items, the merely curious,
stylists, cool hunters, and creative heads from major international
brands are all part of the Vintage Selection audience. Each season,
Vintage
Selection is held at the same time as Pitti Filati, the Pitti
Immagine fair at the Fortezza da Basso. The synergy with these real
connoisseurs – whom Pitti Immagine targets with information and
promotional campaigns – is one of the strongest distinguishing
features of Vintage Selection. It is they who represent yet another
stimulus for the quality, innovation and style research that goes
into the VS offering which presents 360° coverage of contemporary
vintage culture. There will be more
than 30 exhibitors at
Vintage Selection 24 welcoming members of the trade and enthusiasts
who numbered 4,500
at

EXHIBITION
Denim
archive clothing and accessories loaned by some of the
exhibitors, and displayed in special frames to enhance their icon
status.
“LAMPINPOSA”
PHOTO SET
A
sixties-style photo-set where you can be immortalized (wearing
vintage clothes – from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.) by new-generation
Polaroid cameras that combine the vintage-look of Polaroid prints
with the possibility of storing digital versions of the image.
THE
VINTAGE TOURS EXHIBITION
A
fun exhibition showcasing
two- and four-wheel vehicles: from the Vespa to the Lambretta,
from the Ciao to the Atala, staged by Vintage
Tours,
renters of vintage vehicles based at Montepulciano (Siena), offering
a new concept in vacations, excursions, or just a different way to
spend a day.
